I found a shark in Clark Fork
A picture of a shark, printed
from a google image search
from the library in Sandpoint
because apparently all the ink
in Clark Fork was dumped
into the lake or something. An
old local told me, while smoking
an object resembling a paper
towel roll stuffed with pine
needles.
Not a real shark, this is Idaho–
with Idaho trees you'd never get
with letters typed with a finger
in which shaking occurs, at times,
spilt on chest as a hospital record
in an unimportant place fell discarded
obsolete forgotten astray a stray
stick pile finds itself on the side of the road
airplane crashing into it, not a fix for a
needle and thread because Idaho doesn't have any
Valeri Lohrman the human equivalent of that part of a roller coaster when it crests the tallest hill and your seat restraint suddenly disengages. She is also a senior Creative Writing major and songwriter from southern New Jersey.
